Backup & Disaster Recovery
Recovery you can count on when it matters most.
The Challenge
Most businesses assume their backups will work. Few know with certainty what is protected, how current their backups are, or how long a full recovery will take until they're facing a real outage, ransomware attack, or hardware failure.
Capstan designs and manages backup and disaster recovery programs that focus on recoverability, not just data retention. We implement, monitor, and test backup systems, conduct recovery validation exercises, and help organizations establish realistic recovery objectives. For fully managed clients, the same team responsible for operating the environment is also responsible for restoring it during an incident.
Recovery planning belongs with cloud services, managed security, and a cybersecurity assessment.
Servers and Core Systems
Continuous protection for the servers and applications your operations depend on, with both local and offsite backups. Local copies deliver fast recovery from everyday failures; offsite copies protect you when the building itself is the problem.
Microsoft 365
Microsoft keeps its platform running — protecting your data within Microsoft 365 is your responsibility. Microsoft recommends that your data be backed up outside of your Microsoft 365 tenant — we have that covered. Without independent backups, deleted mailboxes, corrupted files, and ransomware that reaches SharePoint or OneDrive may be unrecoverable.
QuickBooks Online
Your financial records live in a system that offers limited ability to roll back to a prior point in time. We can maintain independent backups of your QuickBooks Online data, so a bad import, a deleted period, or a costly mistake doesn't become a permanent one.
Backup Isolation
Modern ransomware targets backups first. Our backups are isolated from the production network and built so they can't be altered, which means an attacker who reaches your systems still can't reach your recovery point.
